広島平和研究所は、平和研究の成果を大学・大学院における教育に生かすと同時に、シンポジウムや市民講座を通じて一般に公開し、社会に還元してまいりました。具体的には以下の活動に取り組んでいますが、いずれも参加は無料です。過去の活動は、ウェブサイトのほか、ニューズレター、ブックレット、紀要などの出版物を通じて公開しています。

While the HPI applies the results of its research on peace in education at HCU, it returns the benefits to society through symposia, public lecture series, and other social events. All the events mentioned below are free of charge and the outcomes are publicized on HPI’s newsletter, booklet, or journal, which are available digitally on our website.

    Prof. Hymans participates in the roundtable panel "Author Meets Critics: McCourt's The Dragon Defined: How Washington, Canberra, and London Reimagined China" at the International Studies Association-West annual conference in Pasadena, California, USA.

    梅原教授、広島県と一般社団法人へいわ創造機構ひろしま(HOPe)が主催する「グローバル未来塾inひろしま」で、広島県と長崎県、沖縄県からの高校生40人に対し、「核兵器はどのように語られてきたか——広島・長崎・沖縄から国際社会を見る」と題して講義し、グループワークを指導（於：広島県民文化センター）

    Prof. Umehara delivers a lecture titled “How Nuclear Weapons Have Been Talked About: Viewing International Society from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Okinawa” to 40 high school students from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Okinawa at the “Global Future School in Hiroshima,” held at Hiroshima Prefectural Citizen’s Culture Center, hosted by Hiroshima Prefecture and the Hiroshima Organization for Global Peace (HOPe), and facilitates group work.

    Prof. Umehara presents a report titled “A Quantitative Grasp of Changes in the Discursive Space Surrounding ‘Peace and Education’ in Postwar Japan” in Session 1-B, “A Sociological Examination of Peace Education,” at the 1st annual conference of the Japan Society for Peace Education, held at Hiroshima University’s Higashi-Hiroshima Campus.
