広島市立大学平和学研究科の博士後期課程に在学しています。私の研究テーマは「米国と中国の先端技術競争における日本政府の対応」です。韓国の西江大学で「日本の政府開発援助政策の決定過程に関する研究」で政治学修士を取得しました。日本の鹿児島県庁、韓国の文化体育観光部で国際交流担当として勤務しました。
日本での留学先を探している中、広島市立大学平和学研究科には韓国人を対象とした姜仁秀氏からの寄附金による「姜仁秀奨学金」があることがわかりました。今は毎月10万円の奨学金を受けており、他の留学生よりはゆっくり研究に集中しています。その他にも、平和学研究科には授業料の軽減、研究に関する書籍の購入、学会参加費補助など、多様な学生支援制度があります。
広島は世界最初の核兵器による被爆を体験した都市ですが、2023年5月には主要7カ国首脳会議(G7)が開催されるなど国際社会の拠点となっており、核兵器禁止などの全地球的な問題の解決のために努力する市民団体も多いです。私は広島市立大学で国際紛争およびグローバル問題を鋭く科学的に分析する技術を学び、市民社会と国際社会に平和創造の時点でアイデアを提供する力を持つ研究者になることを願っています。

I am currently enrolled in the post-doctoral course at the Graduate School of Peace Studies at Hiroshima City University. My research theme is, "The Japanese government's response to the high-tech competition between the US and China." I obtained a master's degree in political science at Sogang University in Korea with "a study on the decision-making process of official development assistance policies in Japan." I also worked as a coordinator for international relations at the Kagoshima Prefectural Government in Japan, and a deputy director at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Korea.
While looking for a place to study in Japan, I found out that the Graduate School of Peace Studies at Hiroshima City University has a “姜仁秀奨学金” targeting Koreans. Now, with a scholarship of 100,000 yen per month, I am more relaxed than other international students, focusing on my research. In addition, the Graduate School of Peace Studies offers a variety of student support programs, such as tuition reduction, research-related book purchases, and subsidies for conference participation fees.
Although Hiroshima is the first city in the world that has experienced exposure to nuclear weapons, it has become a base for the international community, with the G7 summit scheduled for May 2023, and is committed to resolving global issues such as instituting a ban on nuclear weapons. There are many civic organizations that are working to achieve an abolition of nuclear weapons. At Hiroshima City University, I hope to learn the skills to analyze international conflicts and global issues sharply and scientifically, and become a researcher with the capacity to provide ideas to civil society and the international community from a perspective of creating peace.
