■概要
国際社会では、核の恫喝が繰り返されており、核兵器が使用される危険性が高まっています。しかし、だからこそ、核兵器を決して使用させないために、被爆体験を想像するとともに継承していく必要があります。
被爆体験の継承には、証言、絵、漫画、写真、映画、芝居、AI （人工知能）、VR（仮想現実）などといったように様々な「かたち」があります。本シンポジウムでは、被爆者がいない時代の到来を見据えたうえで、これまでの継承のかたちを振り返るとともに、新たなかたちにも触れることで、被爆体験を想像しながら次世代へと紡いでいくための方途を考えていきます。

■Overview:
The past few years have seen a substantial increase in the chances of a nuclear attack occurring somewhere in the world. State leaders such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have repeatedly issued nuclear threats against their international opponents. However, the chances of a 21st century Hiroshima or Nagasaki would be lower if state leaders and all other people became more conscious of the historical reality of the tragic atomic bombings of 1945.
In this symposium, we will reflect on the diverse ways in which the experience of the atomic bombings has been or could be accurately and powerfully conveyed in the contemporary world. In particular, we will consider the role of survivor testimonies, paintings, photographs, and films, as well as novel applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR). This discussion is especially important at a time when the number of hibakusha with direct experience of the bombings is dwindling.
