2021年6月18日（18時30分～20時）、平和学研究科進学説明会がオンラインで開催されました。主にウェブサイトでのお知らせになりましたが、国内外から14名の方に参加していただきました。
当日は、まず大芝研究科長が平和学研究科の概要を、続いて、入試担当が入学試験概要を説明しました。さらに、現役院生から見た平和学研究科と題して、平和学研究科の大学院生ライフを聞く機会が設けられました（写真1）。

その後、Zoomのブレイクアウトルーム機能を用いた質疑応答に移りました。平和学研究科の専任教員、スタッフ、大学院生（写真2）が、法、政治、歴史、広島、軍縮、For English Speaker、大学院生、大学教育・入試制度、各種質問対応といった各部屋に分かれ、参加者との間で日本語、英語による質疑応答の時間が設けられました。参加者は、15分ずつ異なる部屋に入り、多くの教員、スタッフ、大学院生に質問を投げかけ、進学・入試・大学院生活などについて情報を得たり、意見交換したりする場となりました。
昨年度も海外や東北地方や関東地方から参加された方がおられましたが、今回は、東北・関東・中部・近畿・中四国・九州とほぼ全国から多くの大学生、大学院生が参加して下さいました。改めて、物理的な距離を克服するオンラインの良さを実感することができました。最後にはブレイクアウトルームからメインの部屋に全員が戻り、閉会の挨拶となりましたが、参加者のみなさんの笑顔が印象的でした。

今回のオンライン進学説明会は、参加者をはじめ、教員・スタッフ、大学院生のみなさまのご協力によりとても充実した時間になりました。改めまして御礼申し上げます。次回、2021年度第2回オンライン進学説明会は11-12月に開催予定です。是非、ご参加いただければ幸いです。

Graduate School of Peace Studies: Online Briefing Session on Admission (June 2021)
On the night of June 18, 2021, a briefing session was held online by the Graduate School of Peace Studies. Although the announcement was mainly through the HPI homepage, 14 people joined the session from Japan and overseas. The session started with an overview of the Graduate School of Peace Studies in opening remarks by Dean Oshiba. Subsequently, the outline of the entrance examination was explained. After that, a master’s student of the Graduate School of Peace Studies made a presentation offering an opportunity to hear about the real life of the graduate school from the perspective of active graduate students (Photo 1).
After various presentations, questions and answers were held using Zoom's breakout room function. Full-time faculty members of the Graduate School of Peace Studies and administrative staff (Photo 2) were divided into rooms such as law, politics, history, Hiroshima, disarmament, English speaking, graduate students, university education/admissions system, and various questions. Participants moved between rooms, and asked many questions in Japanese and English. I was impressed by the fact that there were participants from overseas, as well as from almost all regions of Japan thanks to the online venue which overcame physical distance. At the end of the day, everyone returned from the breakout rooms to the main room for the closing remarks with smiles from all participants.
The online briefing session ended successfully with the great organizational work of the entire staff. Also, I would like to thank participants who joined the session, and the all of the faculty/staff/graduate students. The next online briefing session is scheduled to be held in November/December. We hope you will join us.
