2024年2月20日(火)、アイルランド国立大学ダブリン校(UCD)と連携して、ロバート・ジェイコブズ教授によるセミナーを開催しました。
(セミナー概要：1945年、広島は核兵器による直接攻撃を受けた。講演では、核兵器が爆発したときに放射能が広島にどのような影響を与えたか、核兵器の爆発によって放射能が生態系にどのような影響を与えるのかについて詳しく説明する。)
UCDの学生をはじめ参加者からは多くの質問があり、セミナーは盛況のうちに終えることができました。
UCDでは、広島平和文化センターの提供によりヒロシマ・ナガサキ原爆写真ポスター展も同時開催されました。（開催期間：2月20日～3月4日）
また、期間中には、駐アイルランド日本国特命全権大使にご招待いただき、在アイルランド日本国大使館への訪問を行いました。
Hiroshima Seminar and Poster Exhibition at University College Dublin (UCD)
On February 20th, 2024 (February 21st JST), Prof. Jacobs presented a lecture at the Museum of Literature Ireland, hosted by University College Dublin. The seminar was very well attended and many questions were asked by UCD students.
The outline of the lecture is as follows:
In 1945 Hiroshima was directly attacked with a nuclear weapon. The talk will examine how radiation affected Hiroshima when the nuclear weapon detonated. It will detail how nuclear weapon radiation effects impact the ecosystem after weapons explode.
There was also a two-week long event (from February 20th to March 4th), "Legacies of the Atomic Bombing: Hiroshima Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Poster Exhibition" in the Student Centre on the Belfield Campus.
Some of the key members including Prof. Jacobs were invited by the Japanese Ambassador to his residence.
These events were hosted by the UCD Centre for Japanese Studies (JaSt), and supported by Hiroshima City University and the Hiroshima Peace Culture Foundation.
