市民が直面する戦争――21世紀の平和構築に向けて
■概要
第一次世界大戦における死傷者のほとんどは戦闘員である将兵であったものが、第二次世界大戦では、非戦闘員である市民の死亡者が全死亡者のほぼ半分を占めるようになった。朝鮮戦争以降の戦争では死傷者の大半が民間人であり、最近のアフガニスタンやイラクでの戦争でも、犠牲者のほとんどが民間人である。本講座では、第二次世界大戦ならびにそれ以降これまでに勃発した主要な諸戦争を、民間人被害者の目で批判的に捉え直し、現代戦争の諸特徴を浮かび上がらせると同時に、戦争防止に向けて私たち市民が歩むべき道を探求する。
