4. 講演の概要
日本がアジア・太平洋戦争（1931-1945）を引き起こす上で、陸軍内のエリート集団グループ「一夕会」が大きな役割を果たしたことは、あまり注目されていない。永田鉄山、東条英機、山下奉文、石原莞爾、牟田口廉也をはじめ、後に陸軍の実権を握る集団の描いた戦争シナリオにより、日本は満州事変を始めとする戦争に突入し、最後は原爆投下と敗戦という破局へと導かれていく。そのプロセスを、「一夕会」の中枢人物らの思想と行動、当時の国際情勢および国内政治に着目しながら、実証的に検討する。
5. 講師の略歴
1947年高知県生まれ。1978年名古屋大学大学院法学研究科博士課程修了、法学博士。日本福祉大学教授、名古屋大学大学院教授などを経て現職。名古屋大学名誉教授。主要著書に『原敬と山縣有朋』、『激動昭和と浜口雄幸』、『浜口雄幸と永田鉄山』、『満州事変と政党政治』、『昭和陸軍の軌跡』、『昭和陸軍全史1～3』、『戦前日本の安全保障』など多数。

4. Abstract of the Forum
In the process of planning of the so-called Asia-Pacific War (1931-1945), the "Isseki-kai," an informal group made up of elite leaders of former Japanese Army played an important role. The group, that included big names such as Tetsuzan Nagata, Hideki Tojo, Tomoyuki Yamashita, Kanji Ishihara, Renya Mutaguchi, wrote war scenarios, and Japan was involved in the war, started by the Manchurian Incident, and finally collapsed by the atomic bombings. Dr. Kawada will examine the process by following the thoughts and actions of key figures of Isseki-kai, with reference to the international and domestic politics.
5. Profile of Dr. Minoru Kawada
Born in 1947 in Kochi Prefecture. Earned a Ph.D. in law at Nagoya University in 1987. He was a professor at School of Informatics and Sciences and Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University, prior to his current position appointed in 2012. He has published many books in the field of the history of political diplomacy and political thoughts in Japan in early Showa era.
